The "Big Scan"

Today was our 20 week ultrasound. We waited about 25 minutes before getting called back and poor Travis was exhausted after working with a friend all night last night. It was all he could do to keep his eyes open!

Once in there we were able to see the little one moving around a bit, but not nearly as much as last time. We also saw it yawn and swallow. We weren't sure if it was just waking up or trying to go to sleep:)

The ultrasound tech measured the stomach, bladder, brain, head and femur bone. All measured within the normal range and with a full bladder we could see that the kidneys are working just fine.

We got an estimate of weight and it was approximately 0.6 lbs. The heartrate was 162 bpm which is in the high end of normal. We also learned that according to it's size it is measuring 19 week along. According to my "Chattanooga" due date of April 10, I'm 20 weeks but 19 weeks is in the "margin of error" as Dr. Radpour put it and just nothing to worry about.

After the ultrasound I went through the normal routine of blood presssure, I think it was 102/60 today. And they weighed me again, I've put on a couple of pounds since my last appointment!

Everyone is probably wondering if we "accidentally" found out the sex of the baby and we didn't. The ultrasound tech said that she didn't even go there and didn't know herself. So we'll all have to wait a few more months:)

Only 2 more appointments that are 4 weeks apart then I start going in every 2 weeks.
