19 Weeks Old

Samantha has been very busy since the last time we wrote an entry.

This past Tuesday she had her 4 month appointment. We learned that she weighs 14 lbs, 5 oz and is 26 inches long. That means she has grown 3 inches in the last 2 months. No wonder she stretches all the way across our rocking chair. At this appointment she got 4 more shots. Shots are never fun but she did much better than she did at her 2 month appointment. The Tylenol didn’t hurt either.

Dr. Carter gave Samantha a good report and commented how alert she was and looking at everything. She told us to go ahead and start feeding her cereal, fruits and veggies with a spoon which we have already tried. Samantha did well we thought with the spoon and of course, got it all over her mom and herself.

Samantha has found her feet. It is adorable to see her pull them up towards her head and play with them. In fact, she sometimes like to play with them more than she does her toys. It’s the simple things in life isn’t it??

Her Dad and I couldn’t figure out why Samantha was not enjoying her bottle but seemed to be fighting it. This was very unusual for her because she loves her bottle. We decided to try a #2 nipple and it solved our problem. She was getting frustrated with how slow the milk was coming. Now she can down a bottle in no time.
