48 Weeks Old

Whew, another very busy week. We went to two consignment sales this week. The prices are very good at these sales and we can usually find something that we need. This year the great find was a spring/summer jacket for Samantha. It’s a good brand, reversible and in great condition. The best part—we paid $3 for it! We were also looking for a backpack to carry her in but didn’t find that. I may have to check out Ebay.

It was a long week for all of us as Travis ended up working on Thursday and Friday in addition to his “normal” work week. This made us realize how much we appreciate his short work weeks and how much family time we have.

We’ve decided Samantha is a c-l-i-m-b-e-r! As we mentioned previously, she’s climbed on the back of her high chair and on the heart. Recently we’ve found her standing in her rocking chair, in her book bin and today, on the door of the dishwasher while I was loading it. She tries to climb into the tub but luckily she can’t hike that little leg up there yet. We’ve resorted to putting pillows on the hearth and now she sometimes “lounges” on the pillows.

Our little one is terribly addicted to her pacifiers. We try to keep them away from her when possible but somehow this morning she found three of them! She had one in her mouth and one in each hand. This is going to be a hard habit to break!

Lastly, we finally bought her some new shoes. Her Robeez had seen better days but they were great shoes. We got her some cute tennis shoes that are more for summer. She’s a bit awkward on them because they are a hard sole but adjusting quite fast.
