I am so far behind on blogging I’m not sure where to start.
I guess we should start with Thanksgiving. BeBe and Papa were able to come down for the holiday and arrived Wednesday evening. Samantha was all primed to stay up late to see them and play. Needless to say, it was hard to get her to bed that evening.
Thursday we spent eating and resting. Samantha pretty much tried to play with everyone all day and she got lots of play time in. The day was beautiful enough that we were able to go outside and take a walk around our house.
We spent the weekend taking Christmas pictures, going to church and Sabbath School and getting ready for our trip to Wisconsin.
We had decided to go home with BeBe and Papa and spend December with them being that Travis is studying so much for his test and it was a good way for us to get to Wisconsin with help and spend some extra time with them.
Monday found us in the car for 15 hours on our way to Uncle Paul and Aunt Jenney’s. There is no other way to put it but just saying the kids were angels on the way up. Samantha never threw one fit about being in the car so long and Blake just wore out the last ½ hour of the trip. BeBe drove us while I entertained the kids in the back of the van. Papa drove their car and we made our stops together. I was sure happy to have some help on the trip.
Samantha walked into Uncle Paul and Aunt Jenney’s house and was off to play with Ellie and Dane. They wouldn’t have stopped except we made them go to bed at 10:30. Both Samantha and Blake were up early the next morning being they were on Eastern time but later they got to play with Ellie and Dane more before we left for the rest of our trip.
Tuesday evening, after several stops, we made it to BeBe and Papa’s house and have now settled in as much as possible.
I know we have upset BeBe and Papa’s quiet life in every way. We have moved things, broken things, spilled things and have had to rearrange things due to the children. Samantha is like glue to my mom so she hasn’t been able to get much done at this busy time of the year.
Samantha has really enjoyed baking with BeBe and making cut-out cookies and other goodies. They spent nearly one day just baking.
Sabbath we went and sang at a nursing home and it was fun see her be so comfortable in that settling being that we visit Travis’ work so often.
Since being here we’ve gone to the library for story time, gone outside and saw the turkeys, painted, read lots of stories, played stickers and colored.
Blake has really taken off. He started to crawl the Saturday night before we left. Now he crawls all over the place. He can also pull himself up on almost anything. When he’s in the walker he can open drawers. With this combination he’s dangerous! We have to keep an eye on him all of the time. It’s so fun to see him get around though.
Today we did a marathon shopping day—shopping is always a big deal here because you have to drive an hour to get to decent shopping. The kids were troopers as usual but I’m afraid it will be a late night as Samantha took her nap around 4:30 L
The kids are adjusting to the snow and cold. Samantha hates the cold weather and makes a silly frowning face when we have to go outside. Blake doesn’t even protest anymore to the blanket being thrown over his head when we go outside.
We’ve spent lots of time just relaxing and playing here and I’m sure that there is much of the same in the coming days.
