The kids and I had the opportunity to visit BeBe and Papa for a little over a week. We left on Sunday, October 10th and came back home the following Tuesday.
We had a fabulous time. The reason we went was to help BeBe make applesauce for us. She had bought 7 bushels of apples and with the help of Aunt Jenney we made a little over 100 quarts of applesauce. The kids loved helping crank the apples through the press to make the sauce. It was a good experience for them and I hope memories were made.
It was great that Aunt Jenney was able to make the trip up with the cousins. It was an unexpected treat for all of us to see them. The weather was so great that the cousins got to play outside and even take a trip to the park.
The rest of the week we spent on the farm with an exception of a town day. The kids really enjoyed their time with Papa. He spoiled them with a bobcat ride, a tractor ride, a 4-wheeler ride and a ride in the pick-up. They also spent a couple of afternoons "helping" him around the farm.
One evening Papa took them to a dairy farm which milks a little over 120 cows. There they got to see and feed calves and climb in the hay mow. After that they got to go into the barn and watch the cows be milked.
BeBe made time special for them by playing games with them, cooking with them and reading stories to them.
We were all spoiled during our stay and we are thankful for the time we got to spend with them.
BeBe bought special play dough toys for them and helped them with them...
