Travis and I were sent to Chicago for his work with Alexian Brothers.  We left on a Thursday morning and returned Sunday afternoon.  My wonderful mom came to take care of the kids for us while we were away.

We went a day before the meetings so we could take in some sight seeing.  After landing, we drop up the to the Navy base where Travis started his Navy career.  Although we didn't recognize anything, he enjoyed seeing the area.

After returning our rental car, we took the L downtown and checked into our hotel, the Sofitel and did some sightseeing.  We walked Michigan Avenue, went to Millennium Park, and took in some deep dish pizza.

Friday we got up and walked over the Navy Pier and explored a bit.  We tried to take in a German restaurant but it was a bit far for the time we had.

Travis's meetings started Friday afternoon and I took the afternoon to relax in the room.  Friday night we had a meal with the entire group. 

Sabbath I slept in and read a bit while Travis had a couple of meetings.  In the afternoon we had a bus tour of some off the beaten path sites in Chicago.  That evening we had a reception at an art gallery.

Sunday we took in breakfast and headed right for the airport so we could get back to our kids.

We decided to get a appetizer so we picked bruschetta with tons of tomatoes.
