Snow days are always a great day, especially when friends ask you to come and play with them for the day. Jenna and Jillian and their family braved the bitter cold with their family and Samantha and Blake to go sledding a bit. We are so happy that they are part of our "village"!

Travis had a very significant birthday in January, he turned the big 5-0 or half-century as he likes to refer to it. We had a nice little get together with friends complete with old pictures. Isn't this one of him when he was 10 cute?

Poor Rocky was very matted and shaggy so after the bitter cold we decided it was a good time to get him groomed. Poor dog didn't look anything like what he did when we dropped him off.

Samantha and I went to Lincoln for the Pathfinder Honors Fest. It was fun for me to go back to Union's campus and see my old room and the Clocktower. Samantha had a great time earning several honors included the String Art honor.

These four as as thick as glue. They try to dress nearly alike many Sabbaths.

January 29 turned out to be a ad day for Samantha. She fell off of her desk and hurt herself. For many days we thought it was just a bruised muscle. By Thursday I decided to take her in and get it x-rayed. Sure enough, she had a buckle fracture in her left humorous bone. I felt a bit better when the doctor admitted he didn't think it was broken himself. He gave her a temporary sling and in the afternoon we visited the orthopedic walk-in clinic for more information. Dr. Gupta and his office set-her up with a better sling with instructions to keep it stable.

It was especially bad timing for her as she has had to miss two skiing days, many gymnastic practices, piano, etc.

After her 2 week check-up we've learned that the bone is growing back nicely.

The end of chili brought the annual Pathfinder chili cook-off. Travis was sure he was going to win two of the 3 categories. Unfortunately he only won the "hottest"chili thanks to several drops of his "Dave's Insanity Sauce."
