our baby doesn’t sleep like she is supposed to. She has power napped from the beginning and takes only 30+- minute naps during the day unless someone is holding her or very near her. Lately Samantha and I have been taking naps together and we have both been feeling a lot better because of it. These naps usually go for about two hours. She just loves being very close to her parents. We’ve been told she’s spoiled. It is recommended that you lay your baby down before he/she is totally asleep so that they learn how to put themselves to sleep. Yeah right. Samantha has never been able to do that. In fact, she must be totally asleep before we lay her down or it’s all over. She does what her Dad
and I have termed “playing possum.” She has her eyes barely open and is barely awake. Awake enough to know what is going on around her. At this point if we lay her down she comes too and lets us know about it. We both have spent quite a bit of time in the rocker until her eyes are sealed tight. We are noticing changes in Samantha quite often and it’s so much fun. She is beginning to reach for things and hold them in her hand. She also props herself up on her elbows during tummy time and is trying to roll over both ways. Tummy time is getting much easier and she is able to go for longer periods of time.
Travis’ work schedule has changed again that he works 14 hour days Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and then he’s home Thursday and Friday. All of us are enjoying this schedule. Travis loves the additional time he gets to spend with his girls and I love the extra help. We don’t know how permanent this schedule is but we are loving it now.
