Monday started off with picture day, we got Blake’s one year pictures taken. He was pretty unsure of his surroundings but we managed to get a smile or two out of him and it was enough to get a couple of decent shots.

At breakfast that morning Samantha had asked to go see her dad. We hadn’t seen him much on Sunday because he had been working on a project so we called and he was available. After pictures we hurried down there and were able to have a nice lunch with Travis. While there we walked the halls and at one of the nurses stations there were quite a few ladies sitting in their chairs. Of course, they oohed and aahed over the kids and Samantha hid behind me the entire time. I’m hoping the more we go the more she’ll feel comfortable with it.

That afternoon Samantha didn’t taken a nap. I thought for sure the afternoon was going to be torture but it didn’t turn out to bad at all. She managed to make it the entire afternoon without any major meltdowns and now I know that if necessary, she can make it without a nap.

Tuesday I got my teeth cleaned so I asked Gloria to watch the kids. Beforehand Samantha was quite apprehensive about it and teared up just talking about it but by that morning she was okay with the idea. It made leaving a bit easier knowing that she wasn’t going to have a meltdown just because I left. When I got home the kids were playing and quite happy.

Blake had another decent week. He is sleeping pretty good at night although these last few nights he’s gotten up a couple of times. I think it’s because of his teeth-one of his top teeth is ready to break through at any time.

I don’t think I’ve mentioned that Blake can crawl backwards. It’s so funny to watch him do it and of course, we could never get it on video because it’s so sporadic.

Blake has started to use a sippy cup a bit. He hasn’t quite gotten the hang of tipping it up to get stuff out so right now I’m tending to fill it quite full so that he doesn’t get a lot of air in his tummy.

Two weeks ago we took Samantha’s binky away from her. She had been only having it at nap and bedtime and we decided that it was time to quit that to. She has done remarkably well without it and has only asked for it a couple of times. I am finding her hands in her mouth a bit more but I feel it’s something that we can work on.

We had another very busy weekend. We got together with friends Friday night, Saturday night and Sunday morning. We love getting together with them and with us anticipating a move any time we are making it a point to get together with as many people as possible.

The little guy is really growing-can't believe that he is going to be a year old. Samantha's hair is really getting long too, WOW-where has the time gone? Can't wait to get a hold of the kids. See you soon.

Love,
Gram/Mom Linda
