So I didn't blog last week because it had been a pretty boring week (we were recuperating), there weren't many pictures and I needed a week off. Here's a summary of what has happened over the last couple of weeks:
Samantha:
*Says that riding on her tricycle is exercise.
*She also says that riding up-hill is "difficult."
*Samantha recently got a new computer program in the mail. She told BeBe to "check this out."
*Has been skipping her naps more than taking them. I've come to accept this and have told her she will have "quiet time" and it's worked so far. She has played quite well by herself most days and gone to bed quite early. It's not as bad as I thought it would be.
*Tuesday evening Samantha got bit by an ant. The next morning she woke up saying her foot felt funny and showed me..it was so swollen. We were advised to soak it in Epsom salt and did that and even put on a charcoal poultice but my Thursday morning it was much more swollen. I made an appointment and took her in to Dr. Carter who believed it was just an allergic reaction (she even tested her blood to make sure) but gave her an antibiotic as a precaution. By Friday the swelling had gone done and it has continued to do so.
Blake:
*Finally got his sixth tooth in last week (it's on top).
*Simply manhandles his walker but refuses to take steps on his own. He sometimes even goes and gets his walker so he can walk some place. He's learned to maneuver around corners and objects quite well.
*Dad taught him how to climb up the ladder on the swing set and he loves to climb up it and slide down!
*He has become quite the little talker, his favorite word is "hello" and even says it when he puts the phone up to his head.
*Poor little guy got another ear infection last week so was an antibiotics again. We caught it early so luckily he wasn't in a ton of pain.
*He has become quite jealous when mom is holding Samantha and often stands at my legs and cries while I'm holding her.
*Blake loves this crib and will fall asleep best when he's in it. It's great while we're at home but it's tough while we're out and about.
Last Sabbath we took advantage of the weather and went to Imagination Station. It was fun to get outside with the kids and take a walk and let them play. Samantha especially enjoyed swinging and playing in the sand. Blake really enjoys the swings too.
We were so surprised to have BeBe and Papa come to our house again. They made a spontaneous trip to Orlando and were driving through so they got to spend Wednesday with us. It was such a treat and a surprise. I was so thankful that the kids were not sick this time!
Today we braved the weather and went to the Knoxville Zoo. It was chilly which meant we made it through in record time but the kids enjoyed seeing all of the animals and spending time with Alex and Ian and their parents. After the zoo we stopped and got something to eat before heading home.
It looks to be another extremely busy week. We have pictures, a birthday party and the arrival of the Renfro grandparents!
This week's shots...
