We were to happy to have Grandma Linda and Grandpa Willy come to our house on Sabbath, April 4th. They got here in time for lunch and it was nice to spend time entire afternoon with them. We spent a lot of time outside!
Sunday we took them bowling. They didn’t’ actually bowl but they went along to watch Samantha bowl. We were happy that Alex came along with his family to.
We stayed busy throughout the week. On Monday we went to the mall and played at the playground. Tuesday we went to the Discovery Museum (lots of fun and lots of kids!). Wednesday was extra special for me because Grandma Linda watched the kids in the afternoon so that I could go out and shop all by myself--it was awesome. Thursday was a work day around the house and Friday we went to dad’s work for lunch. We were able to enjoy the weekend with a trip to the zoo and Imagination Station.
The kids really enjoyed spending time with the grandparents and of course, the grandparents got to spoil the grandchildren.
Friday, the 10th was Samantha’s birthday. As I mentioned previously, we went to Travis’ work and went out to lunch and then he got off work early so we opened presents and ate supper. I think she really enjoyed her day and she is thrilled to be three.
One day while the grandparents were here I sent Samantha to her room for time-out. Admittedly, I didn’t make her stay in there long and when I told her she could come out she said, “That was easy.” I guess it didn’t have the effect that I was hoping for that time:).
Blake is becoming Mr. Independent. He started to really walk on the 9th and hasn’t stopped. He gets around so well and even can start from the middle of the room. He is also all about feeding himself. I practically have to change him after each meal because he gets to dirty. I’ve started to give him silverware and he is starting to get the idea of it all. He also knows what he wants. He throws a little temper tantrum if he doesn’t get what he wants and makes it all quite known.
Samantha is back to asking lots of questions and being a great big sister. I’ve heard her several times trying to help Blake or convince him things are going to be okay. She is also able to count to 20 with little or no assistance and we are working on teaching her how to count to 30. It’s fun to see her count things without even thinking about it now.
I can tell Samantha has really grown lately. She has been eating more the before and all of her pants are all of a sudden almost to short. I've decided that we are to close to summer to get her any more though.
This past week the kids had doctor’s appointments, Blake for his 1 year and Samantha for her 3 year. Blake weighs 20.8 lbs and is 30 ½” long. This makes him in the 50% for his weight about 75% for his height. Samantha weighs 31 lbs and is 37 ½” tall. This also makes her in the 50% for her weight and is in the 80% for her height. Blake just got a Chicken Pox shot and Samantha had to have her blood drawn. The kids got a clean bill of health and we feel so blessed.
This past week was filled with playing, running errands and appointments, basically a lot of catching up on things around the house. We can’t wait to see what this coming week holds!
