A Deer and a Truck

It was Friday, May 31st and Travis had just been bragging that his truck hit the 200,000 mark and we were aiming for just 25,000 more...

It was early and I knew that Travis had left for work but I heard the garage door open so I got up to see what was going on. Travis was home and told me he had hit a deer on Shawnee Mission Parkway.  He said he was fine but he had walked home and left the truck along side the road.

After a bit, I took him up there to see if we could at least drive the truck home.  We were able to but that's about it.  The anti freeze and water drained on the way home and while at home.

We were so thankful that Travis was okay but it was obvious that his truck must be retired!

After a bit of searching, Travis found a truck exactly like he wanted about 40 minutes away from here.  He has been so happy with his new truck and we were happy to have his old truck towed away to a salvage yard and get nearly $500 for it!
