Week 27

This blogspot note is coming to you from the father at the request (demand) of the mother. These past few months have been very exciting for me. Once we found out that we were expecting, we thought… now what? Well, for me reality did not hit until I saw the first ultrasound. I have never been in the doctor’s office when someone else was being examined. That was quite an experience. Especially running on about three hours of sleep from the night before. When I first saw the baby moving, the responsibility came to reality. Since then I have come to enjoy the experience. Heidi and I enjoy sitting on the couch watching TV with her belly exposed waiting for movement to be felt and seen. At night I love to put my hand on her belly while we are going to sleep. It seems that is when the baby is most active. I am thinking to myself, great, we are going to have a nocturnal baby. We have just finished putting the crib, changing table, and dresser in the spare bedroom. It is starting to look more like a baby’s room every day. You may ask what my biggest fear is. Well, I fear that my mother’s wish comes true. That we have a child just like me.

At this point the baby can probably start to recognize our voices although it is a muffled sound because of everything the sound has to go through. It’s eyes have also opened up at this point.

The little one weighs about 2 lbs and it’s total length is around 15 inches.

Awesome. I really excited for you, Trav. I remember the times I'd watch for movement from the baby and I can't believe how fast the time has gone. I know you and I know you'll get it all on tape. :)
