42 Weeks Old

For the third night in a row I have tucked our little energizer bunny into bed around 11:00 p.m. It’s hard to complain too much as she has been in a great mood in the evening but I am not sure I like these late nights. It’s odd to because she hasn’t gotten real late naps. Hmmmm....just when you think you’ve got something figured out she changes it.

We had a very full week and I’m not sure of the highlight. Maybe it was Samantha’s first snow. We sure didn’t expect that her first experience with it would be in Tennessee! The weather was predicted for snow but it has missed us so many times we kind of dismissed it. Well, this time the forecasters were right. We got a little over two inches of wet snow--the real good kind for snowmen and snowballs. As you can see by the pictures we didn’t shower or anything as we weren’t sure how long it would last, we just ran out in it. Samantha wasn’t a big fan of the snow, it was probably too cold for her.

I think we can officially say Samantha is walking. She prefers to walk rather than crawl about 90% of the time but drops to her all fours especially if she’s in a hurry. She can also get to a standing position from sitting down and can take off walking from anywhere. People comment on how small she is to be walking but being our first we kind of just think this is normal. It’s been amazing to see her progress just over the last few days.

Sabbath we went with our good friends Tracy and Cheryl to see the Sand Hill Cranes on their migration path. We were a bit disappointed as you could hardly see the few that were out in the fields but we had a good time anyway. It was a chilly day and so we bundled Samantha up in her snowsuit. She looks so cute all bundled up in pink with her rosy cheeks! Thanks Tracy and Cheryl for the yummy pizza you made for us after our excursion.

Samantha has been trying a lot of new foods. She’s tried yogurt, bananas, cottage cheese, corn bread and pancakes. She hasn’t really spit out and refused to eat anything yet. She’s great about trying new things.
