We've had great weather lately so we've been able to take Samantha outside and let her run around. The first day was about 71 degrees and she loved being out with only a long sleeved shirt. She did quite well walking in the grass and the uneven surfaces. She was so happy she screamed. We took Samantha to a wide open field near our house and along our driveway to let her play. I think she loved the huge area where she could roam.
It seems Samantha is figuring out small stuff every day and we are beginning to realize that she can understand and pays attention to what we are saying. This is the part where we need to start remembering that and think twice before saying anything at all.
Friday was a BIG day for us---we got a minivan. Yes, we desperately needed one and we finally took the plunge. In just the few days that we've had it we love it. It's got so much more room and it's great for getting Samantha in and out of.
The other thing was that we went to the local home show. We thought we were only going to spend the morning there and meet dad's friend Marie for lunch. Well, needless to say we ended up going back after lunch and stayed for a couple more hours. Samantha did well in her stroller until dad stopped to talk then she wanted to get out and w-a-l-k!
And last, it's been a tradition in our household, carried down from my parents to have what we call "Swiss Breakfast" for Sabbath morning.
It's a mixture of yogurt, soaked oatmeal, strawberries, bananas and nuts. It's sounds awful but trust me, it's yummmmmmy! This Sabbath morning Samantha got to taste part of the tradition (minus the pecans) and ate a small bowl full. We think she'll pass this tradition on too.
