Lately Samantha has hated to sit in her high chair but loves to feed herself using utensils. She even can use a “grown-up” spoon and fork. When Kathryn was here last week she brought a portable highchair that is like a booster chair. Samantha really liked it so this week we picked one up for her. She has always enjoyed sitting at the table with us and this is a nice compromise for everyone.
Wednesday Grandma Linda and Grandpa Willy came into town. They have been able to spend quite a bit of quality time with Samantha while they are here which includes a ton of spoiling. Samantha even got to make a trip to Toys R Us to pick out a couple of toys. Oh, that’s a big store for a little girl. Of course, the toy she really liked was the “popper”, the one dad has forbid at the house. He made her pick out at least one educational toy. Grandma Linda has put on miles following Samantha around the yard. Samantha will sure miss them while they are gone. I think we’ve all gained some weight for as many times as they’ve taken us out to eat!
On a baby note…
I had my almost 16 week appointment on Thursday. I was dreading stepping on the scale and there proved to be a reason. The nurse said, “oh, you’re tall, you’ll loose it fast” and the doctor said “well, you started off skinny.” There was about a week or so where I just couldn’t get enough to eat. Luckily that’s slowed down and hopefully I won’t gain so much weight in the future. The baby is doing well, measuring right where it should and the heart rate was about 150 bpm. Our next appointment will be October 18 and we will find out the sex of our little bambino then.
