We were anxiously anticipating the arrival of BeBe and Papa but learned that it was possible they couldn't make it because there was a snowstorm that they were going to be stuck in.
Thursday morning BeBe and Papa had headed out from Uncle Paul, Aunt Jenney's and a blizzard using back roads until they could get to a cleared out freeway. It added an extra hour to their trip but we are happy to report that they made it here safely Thursday night.
Unfortunately by Thursday night Samantha was apparently sick. It only went downhill from there. Friday she was obviously running a fever and slept most of the day. I called the doctor and told them what was going on and they said that I should bring her in. We learned that Samantha had gotten her first ear infection. On a scale of 1-10 it was a 7. We were given antibiotics and told we could continue the Tylenol. While we were there the hospital across the street had a bomb scare and they didn't really want anyone to leave the building we were in. I decided to leave anyways and go behind a nursing home to get home.
By Sabbath morning Samantha seemed to be feeling better as her fever had broke. We decided to take her to Sabbath School and she was thrilled that BeBe and Papa visited her there.
Sabbath evening our dear friends Cheryl, Christy and Mindi threw a shower for us for Blake. We feel so blessed to have so many great friends that came out and supported the upcoming addition of our baby boy. Unfortunatley the evening got away from us before I took may pictures but we enjoyed visiting with friends and got some awesome gifts. Thanks to everyone who came and especially the girls who hosted it.
It has become tradition that when we don't go up to Wisconsin for Christmas BeBe and Papa come down here and bring gifts. This happened again this year so Sunday we celebrated Christmas in February. Samantha was thrilled with her Fisher Price house, especially the doorbell. We all got lots of gifts from them and Uncle Paul and Aunt Jenney. Thank you so much!
Samantha still isn't her normal self and I am hoping that she will be soon, if not, we'll be making another trip back to the doctors as she's been terribly cranky and crying often.
On a baby note...my 35 week appointment went well. The baby's heartrate was in the 140's but we heard it speed up to the 150's while listening. Samantha wouldn't let us forget to ask the doctor to listen to her heart and so he obliged and listened to it with the doppler--I think it made her day. From now on out we see Dr. Radpour weekly but it won't be long, we only have 3+ weeks left! Today we finished up getting stuff for our baby so now we just have to pack our bags.
The snowstorm BeBe and Papa were stuck in at Uncle Paul and Aunt Jenney's...

Uncle Paul standing by a snow bank that's accumulated over the winter (he's 6' 2")...

Samantha didn't want to finish her food so she fell asleep in her highchair...

We've had a great couple of warm days. Here is dad and her playing in our porch...

Opening gifts...
