Like an Elephant

Samantha has a memory like an elephant. We hadn't been to her Sabbath School in two weeks and she was still talking about the bubbles when we went on Sabbath. She loves to chase them around the room as the teacher uses her little machine to push out the bubbles. She loves Sabbath School and can talk about it any time.

She goes with us to my doctor's appointment and talks about the baby's heartbeat. I told her next time I would ask if we could hear her heartbeat. I told her this this morning and by this afternoon she was still talking about "doctor", "mommy's" and "beat". It may be a long two weeks before we go hear her heartbeat!!

Talking has really become her thing again. She often picks up a word or two from whatever you are saying and repeats it. She has also started to put a couple of two word phrases together such as "all done" instead of just "done." If she has slept in our room and wakes up in bed with me she looks and me and says "done." When we tell her "no" about something she gets this very serious look on her face and kind of looks out of the side and shakes her head while saying "no, no." I think it's adorable.

Apparently that teething has really caught up with her because my happy-go-lucky little girl has disappeared for a while. I will be so happy when these last few ones break through.

This week dad put together Samantha's toddler bed. We had been calling it her new one and now that's what she calls it. As you can see by the pictures below, she was thrilled. Not so thrilled that her baby brother would be getting her old bed though. Too bad those smiles didn't happen when I tried to put her to sleep in it tonight. Instead, we got lots of crying. We often put her in there for her naps and when she wakes up she just comes right out and stands at the top of the stairs until she's ready to come down or we go get her.

On a baby note...
I had another appointment this past week. Tomorrow (Monday) I'll be 34 weeks. The appointment went well. It was at 3:45 and we were back in our car by 4:04. A true record I'm sure. I didn't feel rushed with the doctor but everywhere else I did! My blood pressure was fine and finally my weight gain was down. The baby is still measuring a bit behind but no big deal and we'll be sure know more at our 37 week ultrasound.

I swear this baby is playing the how-low-can-you-go game. There are times I think he's going to come really early because he is so low. He is spread out though because I'm often out of breath.

Apparently it depends on what I wear as to how much I show. I had someone ask me at church this week if I had been trying to hide it. The answer was no, I just don't get very big!

I can't complain too much about how I've been feeling but it's catching up to me. I am a bit more fatigued and out of breath. In that respect it seems like 7-8 weeks until the end is a long time.

We finally got a mattress for the crib today so got the bedding put in. I think it looks great! My parents gave us the bedding as a gift and we really appreciate it.

In her new bed...

Playing with dad and Tracy. I can't' figure out who's having a better time...

Me at almost 34 weeks. I look very pregnant here!

The baby's bedding...

Samantha hasn't figured out that the cradle is for her baby brother and not everything else...

I forgot to mention how cute her cheerleader pics are too. Where'd you have them done? You'll have to get the siblings together in their "outfits" once little brother arrives! Too cute!
