When Friday came I realized that I had only left the farm once all week long. I don't know the last time I hadn't gone somewhere at least 4 times in a week! The week went by extremely fast though.
After having several people over the last couple of months ask Samantha what her name was I decided it was time to teach her. While in the tub one night I asked her what her name was. She didn't hesitate at all when she said, "Julia". I was so surprised that she came up with this name as we don't know anyone called Julia and I don't even think we even have any books with that name in it. She would even respond when we called her Julia and would often laugh afterwards as if she knew it was funny. We're now working on getting her to say her real name!
Samantha got to do several new things while here--fingerpaint, ride a bike with training wheels (with help of course), rode the 4-wheeler again, put puzzles together, etc. She's kept BeBe busy!
Blake has had a semi-tough week with just being fussy. We tried switching to bottled water and it seemed to help a bit. Yesterday he was fussy after feedings so I gave him another ounce a couple of times and that seemed to help him out. He was hungry! He has really been showing off that smile.
Last night BeBe and Papa took us out to eat. The kids did great and we were especially proud of Samantha as she sat during the entire meal and ate quite a bit. On the way home we took the scenic way and looked at several new buildings. Papa wanted to take Trav by a new turkey farm about 3-4 miles away from their house. On the way home we saw a bear!!! It was nearly dark and the bear crossed the road in front of the van. He just stared back at us and finally ran off a bit. Samantha saw it and recalled it this morning. Since being here we have seen 5 deer across the field, a pheasant, geese and as I'm writing this a deer just ran across their yard.
Trav spent the last half of the week driving tractor and my dad's Bobcat. Of course, he enjoys driving the Bobcat much more:) He's learned quite a bit about turkeys while he has been here and will get in.
It's so great to be out in the country where the air is clean and it's so quiet!
Samantha has taken up typing. She says, "Me type."
