Life on the Farm

Life on my parents farm is quiet. It's relaxing and refreshing. Maybe because it's home for me and I know that no matter what happens in my life I can come to my refuge--my parents home and farm.

We leave today for my brothers and to be honest, I don't want to leave. While here I've relaxed. My biggest stress while here has been distracting Samantha from her grandparents and trying to keep her from going outside. It has been a nice break from our day-to-day stress of what life brings your way. Admittedly, it's here that I am spoiled!

Life here reminded me that things can be simple. People here leave their houses unlocked (do they even know where there keys are???), keys in their car when they run into the grocery store, purses in their cars overnight. They can just stop into their neighbors or friends. They talk about the wildlife they saw while on a walk and grumble out the main road that is extremely rough. Main street is just a few shops and the local library will have story time even if your little girl is the only one there. TV is fuzzy most of the time and you only get a couple of channels and if the wind is blowing just right, you may only get one channel.
